Cheap car hire at Granada airport
Granada is one of the pearls of Spain, most visited by tourists
from all the world. The long-time capital of Moorish Andalusia has to offer the most important reminds of
this epoch in Spanish history, with the world-famous Alhambra at the top of the
list.
Granada is located just at the point where the
Sierra Nevada mountains meet the fertile plain of the vega. Behind it are steep mountains and in front there is
flat agricultural land.
The AlbaicĂn is the old Arabic
quarter located on the hill opposite the Alhambra. It is characterised by cobble stoned streets with white washed
houses.
The Alhambra is the red fortress
which sits on the hill overlooking Granada and covers an area of approximately 140,000 m2. Once the residence of
the Muslim rulers and their court, it is now one of Spain's major tourist attractions.
Sierra Nevada is Europe's most
southern ski resort. The resort is located 32 km from the centre of Granada and is only a 50-minute drive. In 1996,
it hosted the World Alpine Ski Championships.
